Frequently asked

General questions first, then anything specific to a particular site.

General

Which sites does this support?+

Twitter/X, Facebook (including Watch and Reels), Instagram (posts and reels), TikTok, and YouTube (videos and Shorts).

Why didn't a link work?+

Private accounts, deleted posts, and content that requires a logged-in session won't resolve — this tool never signs in on your behalf. Each platform's own page has more specific troubleshooting.

Does this add a watermark?+

No — whatever file the source platform serves is what you get, untouched.

Can I use this for any video I want?+

Only download clips you own or have permission to reuse. This doesn't grant any rights beyond what the poster and each platform's terms already allow.

Twitter / X

Why didn't a link work?+

The post may be private, deleted, or age-restricted — those aren't reachable without a logged-in session. Image-only or text-only posts also won't return a video, since there isn't one to pull.

Does this add a watermark?+

No. The file you get back is the same MP4 X stores on its own video CDN, untouched.

Do I need an account or API key?+

No. Paste a link and fetch — nothing to sign in to, nothing to configure.

Can I use this for any video I want?+

Only download clips you own or have permission to reuse. This fetches what's publicly attached to a post; it doesn't grant any rights beyond what the poster and X's terms already allow.

Facebook

Why did fetching fail?+

Facebook's page markup changes often, and a lot of video is login-walled — private groups, some Reels, and age-restricted posts won't resolve here, since this tool never signs in on your behalf.

What's the difference between HD and SD?+

HD is Facebook's higher-bitrate original, when it stored one. SD is the standard compressed copy — offered on basically every public video, even when HD isn't available.

Do I need to install anything or log in?+

No. Paste a link and fetch — nothing to sign in to, nothing to configure.

Can I use this for any video I want?+

Only download clips you own or have permission to reuse. This fetches what's publicly attached to a post; it doesn't grant any rights beyond what the poster and Facebook's terms already allow.

Instagram

Why didn't a link work?+

This only reaches posts and reels that are public. Private accounts, deleted posts, and photo-only posts (no video attached) won't resolve, since this tool never signs in on your behalf.

Does this work on Reels and regular video posts?+

Yes, both — paste either type of link and it's handled the same way.

Do I need an account?+

No. Paste a link and fetch — nothing to sign in to, nothing to configure.

Can I use this for any video I want?+

Only download clips you own or have permission to reuse. This fetches what's publicly attached to a post; it doesn't grant any rights beyond what the poster and Instagram's terms already allow.

TikTok

Why did fetching fail?+

TikTok changes its page structure often and the video links it hands out are usually short-lived — if a fetch fails, or a file that worked a moment ago stops loading, try pulling the link again.

Will the file have a TikTok watermark?+

It depends on what TikTok's page serves for that video — this tool doesn't add or remove one; whatever comes back from TikTok is what you get.

Do I need an account?+

No. Paste a link and fetch — nothing to sign in to, nothing to configure.

Can I use this for any video I want?+

Only download clips you own or have permission to reuse. This fetches what's publicly attached to a post; it doesn't grant any rights beyond what the poster and TikTok's terms already allow.

YouTube

Why did fetching fail?+

Private, unlisted-via-login, age-restricted, or live videos won't resolve, since this tool never signs in on your behalf. Some videos also only expose signature-protected files, which this tool doesn't decode — those show a clear error instead of a broken download.

What's the highest quality available?+

Whatever YouTube serves without a signature cipher for that video — often up to 720p, sometimes less. This is a current limitation, not a per-video setting you can change.

Do I need an account?+

No. Paste a link and fetch — nothing to sign in to, nothing to configure.

Can I use this for any video I want?+

Only download videos you own or have permission to reuse. This fetches what YouTube serves publicly; it doesn't grant any rights beyond what the uploader and YouTube's terms already allow.
